Mitchell, Arthur
(n. 27 mar. 1934, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Bailarín y coreógrafo estadounidense, director del Dance Theatre de Harlem. Estudió en la High School for the Performing Arts en la ciudad de Nueva York. Bailó en musicales de Broadway y trabajó en varias compañías de ballet antes de ser el primer bailarín afroamericano en integrarse al New York City Ballet en 1956. Dejó la compañía en 1972, tras interpretar varios papeles en ballets de George Balanchine, entre ellos Sueño de una noche de verano (1962) y Agon (1967). En 1968 fue cofundador de una escuela de ballet y su compañía, la Dance Theatre de Harlem, que debutó en 1971. Continúa siendo su director y coreógrafo.
